Badass

Awesome rock track ! I must admit it's pretty hard for me to tell if you've played actual guitars or used synths. If they're synths, that makes this track even more awesome since it's so hard to make rock sound good with synths. If they're real, than it's still a great rock track. Maybe a bit too long, considering there's not a lot of significant variation. Overall, the mixing, regardless of these being synths or real instruments, is top notch, no instrument is overpowered by the other, and the sound quality is crisp. Great rock track ! Keep up the great work !

OPQC responds:

i did use 3 synthesizers. to edit the guitar sound :D
i did use synths. ur right its very hard to make it within synths!

Awesome

This is truly awesome. The percussion section is particularly well arranged and mixed in, but maybe the metallic percussion thing should sound stronger and more metalic like in the Terminator theme. The choir and brass are what make this truly epic. Once again, you have composed excellent trailer music.

madboss responds:

Thanks for the comment and the ideas about the metallic percussion. To be honest I was focused on the two main drums (the big one dealing with the main rythm and the ones paned to the right channel - the tribeish like drums) to be optimised and sound well. The others were a bit out of range and I was lazy to work more on them.

I'm happy that you think the mastering is okay - I try to improve there as well.

Excellent

A slick, punchy track with lots of variation, a bone-crunching beat, lovely melodies and smooth synth background. I found no mixing issues with this song, it all sounds perfect. Excellent work !

F-777 responds:

I love you XD.
Thanks so much!

Superb

I'm a huge fan of Danny Elfman's music for Edward Scissorhands and I must say your rendition of his score is excellent. Everything clicks together here and you succeed admirably in rebuilding the ideas and emotions Elfman intended for Tim Burton's movie. Excellent work !

good

The concept is good and there are some great ideas in the use of synths, but unfortunately, the mixing is flawed and it kind of ruins the song. I love the Axel F song, as a movie theme, not as a trance remix, and I really think you had something here that was closer to the spirit of the original theme and much better than the crappy crazy frog remix. Nice touch with Eddie Murphy signature laughter and the movie clip at the end. I would definetly love to hear an improved version of this. Good work anyway !

1nf1ltr8or responds:

Thanks for the review, but it would definitely help if you could elaborate on why you think things like the mixing is flawed because it's like telling someone that they smell bad, and it might just be that they're wearing a cologne/perfume that smells bad to you but good to everyone else. Plus, it would help me to fix some things in the track that might actually be bad so that the tracks I produce from here on out don't have bad mixing like this one. ;-)

Yeah, I was debating if I should have made this into a Trance, Orchestral, Break-Beat or remix it with the same sounding instruments. But, I think almost any track could sound pretty new and cool if it was remixed properly; so I guess saying that you don't love this theme as a Trance remix is a personal preference. But, it really does help me when I hear constructive criticism like this instead of someone who knows nothing about music production just telling me it's crap. So, thanks for not being that person!

Beautiful

A beautiful theme and good mixing of all the musical layers and instrumentation. Good Work !

Great

A cool track with crisp sound quality, pleasant melodic flow, awesome beat and an overall upbeat mood ! Good work !

HungarianSupermarket responds:

hehe, thanks! i'm not sure if an overall upbeat mood was what i was aiming for, but i'm glad you found it that way.

Good

The song is great, the melody, the guitar work, everything. I would only complain that the guitar sounds too muffled. The distortions on the guitar are a good idea, but I think it could be better mixed in the track. And I think lyrics would be a welcome addition. Great work !

ReapersArms responds:

Thanks man. Yeah I know I really need to work on the mixing because it does sound a little muted. Thanks again.

Cool

This sounded really cool, too bad you were 0-bombed. Well, anyway, I loved the whole distorted experience, awesome beat and twisted synths. Great work !

podol responds:

cheers bro i'm glad you enjoyed it :P

Great

Excellent song, although I would say it would fit better in the classical category. This brought back such dark, but fond, memories of American McGee's Alice. I was a huge fan of that game, and this song is a very pleasant surprise as it preserves the dark tone of the game. Very well executed piano work. Great work !

chaoshunter476 responds:

Thank you for the Review.
Yes Alice is a excellent game to play after being read the story as a child.

I will change it to classical, I couldn't decide between the two, thank you.

Amateur composer and film-buff. That about sums it up.
