Journey Through Time (INC)

"Excellent"

date: July 1, 2008

It might be incomplete but it's still excellent work. To me it sounds like a finale, like a reprise of a main theme. Like the end of something, an epic adventure that has come to an end. It doesn't need much more, I dont't think it should end in a very big way, it could just flow down to a quiet stop, like the screen slowly fades to black. But that's just me. I'm sure you'll find the appropriate way to end it. Anyway, congratulations on an excellent musical score.

Thanks a lot! :)

I was kinda thinking the same thing about the way to end it, but I felt it needed more. Maybe that's what I'll do, maybe not. Who knows. I'm going to give it a couple more days before I decide. Maybe I'll find something else that'll give me an alternate inspiration. :)

Anyway, thanks again! :D

A very entertaining track with an interesting sound to it. The last minute or so is simply awesome. Pretty good mixing, and great bass work.

[madboss] - The Labyrinth

"Powerfull"

date: June 30, 2008

Really edgy and dark. A powerfull, suspensful track. I would imagine this in a fantasy adventure. The best part of this song I think is the more subtle build in tension from 0:48 to 1:10. I have to admit it's a bit harsh to listen to, but would work wonderfully in a movie, as I said, a fantasy adventure or something like that. It works perfectly in building tension and creating an uneasy atmosphere.

What a pleasant suprise! To be honest I haven't thought that anyone would find this track worthy to write a review about it. Thanks that you did!

I've made this track within an hour so there's no well planed and precisely equalised sounds. Only the paning is done - but only beacuse I've made a starting empty project file with the paning settings.

I'm glad you liked this stuff. Thanks for your review!

"Great work"

Might not be the absolute in terms of battle music, but there are good ideas here, and I like the way you mixed the modern beat with the more traditional orchestral sound. The theme itself is, in my opinion, too much in the background and doesn't really stand out or take charge of the action. But, it still is a very good achievement.

Author's Response:

thank you. it's actually more a strategy battle theme than an on-the-spot brawl. my goal was to get a beat and a good flow, and i think i got it down. this is for a command & conquer mod project. most of the pieces have an orchestral and synth/modern sorta mix.

I'm not really a fan of trance, but once in a while a track like this comes out and my feelings change. Excellent mixing, excellent music writing, and a cool, refreshing rythm throughout. Excellent song !

Metalico Test_01

"Good"

submission: Metalico Test_01

It's a decent enough metal track. Of course, it's hard to judge a loop, but I can say that it sounds good enough to become a full song. The guitar sound is not that bad, I've heard (and used) worse. Keep up the good work and do a full song.

The Eternally Tainted

"Pretty Good"

date: June 28, 2008

Very relaxing track. Loved the guitar work, and the use of a varied array of instruments make this a really cool song. I could almost picture it in a movie like Heat. The high-pitched guitar from 1:14 to 2:00 sounds good for a while, but I think it could use some more work. All in all, very good work.

"Beautiful"

It's very rare to find such gems on this site. This is one of the most beautiful songs i've heard around here. The melody is amazing, and the instrumentation perfect. The flute and the piano and backing synths blend perfectly with the beat. Excellent work ! Instant favourite !

Mortal Kombat Orchestral

"Flawless Victory"

date: June 8, 2008

I didn't think anything like this was possible, but you've proven me wrong. It sounds way better than any of the Mortal Kombat soundtracks. Beautifully orchestrated and a lot of fun to listen to, with good support from the percussion samples, this is an excellent achievement.

Short but extremely effectiv. Loved the use of percussions. Very cinematic, I could picture the panoramic scene of unspeakable grandeur. Beautiful and perfect.
